A Time Of Dragons

In a time of Dragons
I would find you
dancing in the woods
carefree zephyr braiding
your sunlit hair
in love with the fiery
sparkle in your eyes
of innocence and mischief

In a time of Dragons
I would court you
carving love notes
on your sacred tree
for you to find come dusk
for me to watch you, hidden
smile that smile
that sets the sky on fire

In a time of Dragons
I would challenge, confident
your skills with bow and sword
and revel, quietly
in your flustered cheeks
witness to the miracle
of your fervent heart
thudding in your chest

In a time of Dragons
I would take you with me
riding my own, soaring
up into the skies that birthed
my dreams of love and desire
held against me, ever-safe
the sound of your laughter
my song eternal
